When we pointedly blame others for inner disturbances; upsets, uproars, so on., we are placing ourselves in a disempowered state. If someone else is wholly to blame, my peace of mind is predicated on waiting for the individual(s) to change their behavior. If we want to grow with grace and agency, without needing another person’s permission to be free, we can instead change self. The perspective, narration, and life belong to self. Once we stop outsourcing our power, we’ll be able to move with more poise and protection.
