A Change in the Mind Changes Matter
If we don’t work on them
they’ll age with us
They’ll work us up
They’ll age us
at the heels of our joy
always
Crowding our spines
Creating a bend in our minds
like dendrites desperately sprawling
indelible emotional scarring
so we examine
the unexamined psyche
sluggish, but not stagnant
reluctant, but not refusing
we’ll understand
the underbelly of our behavior
or be cornered in the crannies of chaos
with a changed perception
comes an alteration in the world within
thereby changing the material world
so without
Once tolerance develops and craving becomes paramount to basic survival needs, the ability to stop of one’s own volition is nil. It is a twist of the mind.
